Step 1: Register the Atl.dll file
- Click the Windows , and then click Run. The Run window opens.
- In the Open box, type regsvr32 Atl.dll, and then click OK.
- On the RegSvr32 screen, click OK.
Step 2: Unregister and reregister Microsoft Windows Installer
- Click the Windows on the Windows taskbar, type msiexec /unregister in the Search programs and filesbox, and then pressEnter.
- Click the Windows on the Windows taskbar, type msiexec /regserver in the Search programs and filesbox, and then pressEnter.
Step 3: Reinstall the HP software
You can use the software CD that shipped with your product to install, but for the most current software HP recommends downloading and installing the software from the HP Web site.
If you have already downloaded the software, you do not have to download it again. Otherwise, follow these instructions to download and install the software.
- Turn on the printer.
- If your printer is connected to the computer with a USB cable, disconnect the cable from the printer.
- Go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
- If prompted, select a method to identify your printer model, and then follow the on-screen instructions to go to the download page.
- Click Download next to the full feature driver (recommended), or click Basic Drivers for other driver options.
