I understand that the desktop icon, to open the printer/scanner control software, is no longer working. I can help you with this issue.
Try the following steps and let me know if this resolves the issue.
- Touch the Windows flag to get the Start/Tile screen
- Without clicking on anything, start typing 'Computer'
- Open the C drive > Program Files x86 > HP
- In the HP folder, locate and open HP 7520 folder
- Open the Bin folder
- Right click on HPScan and click on 'Pin to Start'
- Close the open windows
- Touch the Windows flag again to return to the Start screen
- If you do not see the HPScan start typing 'HPScan' (No spaces)
- Open the HP Scan software.
