Okay hitchin, first of all, thanks for not loosing faith :)
Some of the steps I suggest now are going to duplicate things we have done but I would like to do this in a certain order. Please try these steps and let me know, with any luck you will return with good news.
1. Type %temp% in the run field
2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356)
3. Open folder Util
4. Open folder CCC
5. If you have an HP computer run the L3uninstall.exe. If you have a non-HP computer run the L4uninstall.exe
Note: If you do the level 4 please download this next Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5
6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer
7 Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools folder under all programs
8. Register the Windows Installer
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Openbox, type msiexec /unreg, and then click OK.
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- In the Open box, type msiexec /regserver, and then click OK
9. Stop all services that are not Windows
- Open the run box
- Type Msconfig
- Click on the services tab
- Click on 'Hide on Microsoft Services'
- Select Disable all
- Click Apply
- Click on the Startup tab
- Click disable all > Apply > OK
Note: Registry cleaners will not be disabled and could certainly interfere with the installer they must be turned off manually, please look at this. Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Error May Display When Installing Certain Printers.
10. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
11. Create a new folder on your desktop (call it Install HP)
12. Copy all contents from CD to the folder you created on desk top then run the setup from desktop folder
13. Right click on the setup.exe in the folder, on the desktop, and run as admin
14. Once the software is successfully installed we can restart the services we stopped in step 9.
