Hi wkrmhk,

I tried another way of finding it and it worked, let open Computer and click on the C drive. In the top right hand corner type ScanToPCActivationApp in the search box. When the computer finds it, right click and go to properties and proceed with the instructions.

  • Click on the Compatibility tab
  • Under Privilege Level put a check in 'run this program as an administrator'
  • Then click on 'Change settings for all users'
  • Put a check mark under the Privilege Level, click Apply and then OK
  • Click on the security tab
  • Click on Edit
  • Click on Add
  • In the 'Enter the object names to select' - type "everyone"
  • Click OK
  • Click on 'everyone', in the Group or user names
  • In the Permissions for Everyone put a check mark in all of the boxes under 'Allow'
  • Click Apply, Click OK
  • Click Apply, OK and the ScanToPCActivationApp Properties will close.

If you still can not find the ScanToPCActivationApp, then I would suspect we are missing a piece of the software.

If you are in fact missing this piece of software I would suggest you contact phone support. They use a software program that allows remote connectivity and with your permission they could navigate through your computer. Sometimes 2 sets of eyes are better then one. The number for Canada and US is 1-800-474-6836 or you can Contact HP Worldwide.

Best of luck.
