I believe that HP are having a bunch of experts visit the forum tomorrow to help answer questions and issues.
I'll hold off calling HP Support for now, to see if any of them can address this.
I hope that they will think the issue worth addressing but, as HP hasn't updated the software since Dec 2012, I doubt they will offer a solution.
With this particular model (and a few others), they offer a 30-day try-out period, which is a great feature and a brave offer. I took it as a sign of confidence on their part. Again, it leaves me baffled - why offer this while artificially limiting the device through software for the majority (Windows) of users?
