Need more information.

Were you connected wirelessly to your network before?

Why do you want to turn off IPv6?

Why don't you have any Network settings?

Thanks

This is not a problem!

But if it is possible here, can anyone or a few folks share their opinions on what is a really good, reasonably priced printer that has great wi fi security and has scanner abilities (as mine does) and maybe eprint -- if I ever need it? I am thinking of getting a new printer.

I don't know if such a question is allowed but I hope so.

Oh I forgot -- it must be user friendly and come with the CD as mine has come in handy.

thanks,

Gina

Yes I have been connected wirelessly. I want to get rid of that error code that keeps coming up & a post back in May said that to do that I should turn off the Ipv6, but I can't get to my Settings or Network Settings to do that

Setup - Network Setup - Advanced settings - IVp6 turn to off. Note that to reach some menu items you need to scroll down.

Vermaas,

Can you help me understand your environment better?

1. Who is your internet provider?

2. Did your internet provider supply your router?

3. What is the make and model of the router?

4. How long is it before you receive the error?

5. What is the model # of your printer?

I spent weeks trying to resolve this problem, including getting a new printer twice from HP support. My advice is just switch IVp6 off. I have never seen the error code since I did that and my printer works perfectly.

This is driving me insane! Can print from laptop and tablet with no problems, so printer working ok and network fine. Every document from desktop pc that is printed comes with Printer in Error state. Have uninstalled all HP software and reinstalled but nothing works. Is it the drivers, and if so where do I find them on the system and will it mess up the other devices printing?

Thanks!

Do you experience the same issue with other browsers?

If the issue is only with Chrome, I suggest you check for Chrome updates and if the issue persist then Reset Chrome

  1. On your Mac, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More .
  3. Click Update Google Chrome. ...
  4. Click Relaunch.

To Reset Chrome follow these steps

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
  3. At the bottom, click Advanced
  4. Under "Reset Settings," click Restore settings to their original defaults and then Reset Settings.

Drivers HP 2420d

I just  got a new PC using Windows 10 64bit. I have a HP LaserJet 2420d.  It is one of the next printers a true work horse.  I have been unable to find the driver for the dual printer. I am wasting a ton of paper since I refuse to manually print on both sides.  I was only able to locate the driver for the 2420 but it will not autmatically  print on both sides. I need to stop killing trees. Any suggestions?

Do an RPC reset.

Turn of the Router then the printer and the computer leave it for 60 seconds.

Turn it back on in the same procedure.

Try connecting the printer.

If the issue persists, Assign Manual IP to the printer:

1) Print a Network configuration page from the printer's control panel.

2) Look for IP address from the Network configuration page.

3) Open web browser - Chrome or IE or any other browser that you are using.

4) Type the IP address mentioned on Network configuration page into the browser's address bar or URL bar and press enter button.

5) Go to the Network tab.

6) Click on Networking from the left pane.

7) Then click on Network Address (IP).

😎 Click on Manual IP Address and go to suggest a Manual IP.

9) Scroll down the screen and select Manual DNS server.

10) Enter the Primary and secondary DNS server from the Network Configuration page into the Manual Preferred DNS server field.

11) Click on Apply.

Refer to the video link for step by step instructions - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCnYyq80V9g

Note: The video is for win 8 but steps are similar for other operating systems as well. You need to enter the IP address in the browser's URL or the address bar to access the printer page.

Try connecting the printer using the IP address.

We could try changing some settings in the Support Menu and check if that helps

Since these steps are specific to your printer, I have sent you a private message with the next course of action

Please check your private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile.

Next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope
