Laserjet 1320 with Mac OS Sierra 10.12.4

I am writing this for a friend/ Professor who owns this printer and has been searching for the correct driver to make this printer work.  He said that his IT person tried and was unable to help him and has declared the printer no longer usable (sigh).

 

I want to check this - and find out if there is a driver for his still working - and still lovable printer?

Is there any error on the printer's display? If so what is the error message?

 

Running the diagnostics at http://www.hp.com/go/tools may help resolve the issue.  Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

I appreciate your time and efforts,

 

I recommend resetting the printer back to factory defaults using the semi-full reset,

However, since the procedure is sensitive, I will be sending you a private message with the details:

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer


2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)


The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.


3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

1.  Have installed "All-in-one Printer Remote" APP (v 4.2.131) and Bank United APP (v 5.2.1.0).

2.  When printing from Bank United APP - Printer options include all or my available printers EXCEPT the HP OfficeJet Pro 8715.

 

Question:  How do I get Acer B3-A30/Android 6.0/All-in-one Printer Remote to come to gether to INCLUDE the HP Printer?

ERROR:  Bank United App does NOT show available printer options; - the BU app does NOT support printing of cleared checks.  Sorry for the erroneous post.

tried all that but still didn't solve the problem and there is no error message on printer display, it just shows up on the print request and does not say what the error is

I bought a used  HP Deskjet 3510. It was never used or set up. I have a Mac with OSX 10.11.6  El Capitan. I downloaded and installed the driver from the HP website but I cannot get my computer to recognize the printer. Then I happened to see on the website that this printer driver might not be compatible with my operating system. I really need help.

It should connect fairly quickly once it disconnects (less than a min for most routers)

 

For prevention, can you try using a TCP/IP port?

Create a TCP IP port

1. Print a Configuration Page to get the printer's IPv4 address (you can also tap on the wireless icon on the Front panel of your Printer to get the IP address)
2. On your PC, go to Control Panel, from Devices and Printers, right click the printer and left click Printer Properties, select the Ports tab.
3. Click Add Port, select Standard TCP/IP Port, then select New Port and follow the wizard.
4. Type in the proper IP address for the printer.

Note that you can ALWAYS revert back to the original port that the HP software installed by selecting the HP port under the Ports tab (in Printer Properties)

Hello,

 

Deskjet 3636 is a sub-series of Deskjet 3600 and the software for both the printers are the same. Hence no, that is not the problem.

 

Try to completely uninstall the drivers, update the Apple software and then try the steps again.

 

·         Uninstall the old printer drivers first. Follow the steps mentioned here: http://hp.care/2cKwLyC

·         Now run the Apple Software Update. Check here for steps: http://hp.care/2cNgw3C

·         Restart your computer and printer.

 

Now, try the steps listed in my above message and check for issue resolution.

 

If the issue persists, let me know if the printer can make a copy or not. Place a document face down on the scanner glass and press the copy option on the printer control panel. Let me know if it makes a good copy or not.

I will send you a Private Message (PM) with information that should resolve your issue.  The envelope in the upper right will turn blue when you have a message, click on the envelope to open the PM system.  

 

For others that may be reading this: the sequences to enter the support menu opens up a number of options, some of which can damage the printer or render it unusable. See the post here for information.

I understand that you have an HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer - A909a and there is a paper jam error message on it. I read that you have performed a hard reset, cleaned the rollers and also the carriage seems to be moving freely. Fabulous analysis. Spectacular diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. You've done a remarkable job performing the steps. 

 

This does not sound like a drivers/software issue. It's something got to do with the printer.

 

I would like to know the following information to assist you better:

  • Is this a fake paper jam error or was there a real paper jam recently?
  • Do you see any tiny pieces of paper anywhere inside the printer that may be stuck?

I suggest you to check the detailed steps for cleaning a paper jam error from this link. NOTE: Please ignore any steps which you have already performed.

 

If the printer continues to display a paper jam error then let us reset the printer. I have sent you a private message to reset the printer. This reset is different from what you did on the printer.

Hi There,

Thankyou for replying, i have just changed my advanced settings as you suggested, but when printed it still comes out 3/4"  I would be grateful for any advice you have
