Re: Problems installing HP PSC 2355 All in One Printer

Hi,

The printer is working on Windows 8.1, I would ensure the connections are good as following:

  1. Right click the background area of Devices and Printers and select Device Manager.
  2. Expend the Universal Bus controller category.
  3. Ensure the printer is powered on, ready and connected to your PC.
  4. Ensure the USB is propertly plugged to the printer and your PC, I would suggest replugging the cord to ensure it...

I would also ensure that the cable is not longer than 2 meters long, directly conencted to your PC and not through any USB hub or extension.

Do you see any change under the specific category or the Other Devices category once plugging or removing the USB?

If there is no change at all, I would try a different USB cord and check for any difference.

Hello ,

I read about the Solution Center issue you are having after a driver update, and not being able to finish the installation due to a Fatal Error.

Here is my suggestion to you.

Try a level 3 uninstall to completely remove all printer files:

If software was downloaded and extracted to your system:

1. Click Start and type %temp% in the run field, press enter to open the temp folder

2. Look for, and open the folder starting with 7z (Example: 7zS2356) (If there is more than one, choose the most recent folder)

3. Open folder Util

4. Open folder CCC

5. Run the L3uninstall.exe

6. When the uninstall has completed restart the computer

7. Run Disk cleanup from Accessories\ System Tools

8. Download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player

http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html

9. Download the full feature software and drivers: HP Officejet Pro Full Feature Software and Driver

10. Run the download to reinstall the printer

11. If you notice any errors, please write me back with the details

Good luck :smileyhappy:

Hi Com1diver, I hope you had a great weekend!

I'd recommend a power reset on the printer.  Disconnect the power cord from the printer and the power outlet, then wait 60 seconds. After 60 seconds, plug the printer back in. Ensure you plug the printer directly to a wall outlet. Make sure to bypass any sort of surge protector or power bar.

I'd then recommend downloading and running the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Please keep me posted!

Hello ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! :smileyhappy: I understand you have recently installed your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5650 to your Mac running the 10.9.5 Operating system. I see you tried to update the drivers but it kept putting you in a loop. After some research I notice there are no full feature software and drivers for the 10.9 OS, with that being said you will need to install the printer using Printer Driver built in to the OS. Let's get started below:

Reset Printing System

1. Click the Apple icon (   ), and then click System Preferences.

2. In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan  dialog box opens.

3. Right-click (or  Ctrl  +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…

4. Click OK to confirm the reset.

5. Type the correct Name and Password.

6. Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected

Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol..

Repair Disk Permissions

1.On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.

2.Double-click Disk Utility.

3.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").

4.Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.

5.Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.

Restart the printer. Now you can download and install the printer software using the HP Driver. Take a look below to get started:

Installing Your HP Printer Driver and Software for Mac OS X

I hope this helps, please let me know the outcome, ne sure to check out the FAQs!

Hello Nanu64,

Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you are having some issues when attempting to print from your computer.

I also see that you stated that not all the options are available in the printing preferences options.  This could be because the installation was not complete or it failed.

I suggest that we do a complete uninstall/ reinstall as well as some additional steps.

First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.

If you have the printer connected to the computer with a usb cable, please remove the cable from both ends and leave it disconnected until further notice.

The next link that I have for you will give you detailed instructions for Uninstalling the Printer Software.  Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer so that the changes take affect.

When the computer is back up and running, please disable any firewalls or anti virus protection you may have running. We don't want anything getting in the way of the reinstall.

The following download is the HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers.  Save this download to the desktop of the computer so that it creates its own icon.  This will make it easy for us to find when the download is complete.

Double click the new icon and follow the installation instructions.  The installation will give you connection options (Wireless , usb or Ethernet), if connecting usb, please wait for the prompt to connect the cable.  Connecting the usb cable before hand can cause an issue with the installation.

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

Thanks for your time.

Cheers,   :smileyhappy:

Re: my windows 7 does not recognize the driver installed by hp c7280 AIO software

Ran %temp%   Followed instructions. Found the C7280 in Device Manager. Clicked to update. Pasted path. Got a repsonse that there is no driver.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, cleaned the registry -- if there's anything anywhere on the web about problems with the Photosmart C7280, I've tried it without success.

The printer works fine from my other Windows 7 computer. The problem computer can find the printer and connect, but returns and error that it can't print. Driver updater reports that the latest verion of the driver is installed. Driver properties say the the drive is enable and working.

Maybe it's time to toss out this virtually new printer and buy something that actually works from a company that supports their products without charging outrageous support fees.

Reports from Address Book

Reports from my  Address Book software will not print.  It's very old software but I use it daily.  The product is:

Address Book for Windows Version 6.0, Copyright 1992-1998 Parsons Technology.   Under System Info for this software it has default for printer - Deskjet 1510 series 6.0, Local drive C:  .  The correct printer is in the print area for the report, the document (4 tries) appears on my HPDeskjet printer as a document in the que.  I've tried, many times, to get the 4 print jobs cancelled, but they will not disappear from the print que.  I have been able to print other items, documents, scans, with the 4 jobs still showing in the que:  Status Deleting.

Help:  I want the Address Book and the HP Deskjet 1512 to talk to each other.  Then print what the Address Book sends to the Printer.

Hi  needhphlp,

Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you are having an issue with connecting the printer to your new router.

What we need to do is go on to the front panel of the printer and press the Wrench button.  This will take you to the Setup menu.  Once in the Setup menu, please use the right arrow key and go to the Network options.  Scroll down until you see Restore Network Defaults.  Select the Restore Network Defaults option.  This will clear out the old router and you can now go and connect the printer to the new router. Here is a document with Setting Up the Printer for a Wired or Wireless Network for the HP Officejet Pro 8500 All-in-One Printer Series.

If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.

Thanks for your time.

Hi,

Turn the printer off and reboot your PC, be sure to keep the printer powered off at this time.

Once the PC restarts open the control panel and then open Printers and Faxes.

Right click the deskjet printer and click on Cancel all documents, the printer icon should disappear within a few seconds.

Turn the printer on and allow it a minute, the printer should reappear.

Now open the software, ensure the printer is selected and try printing again.

Hope that helps,

Shlomi

Hi,
Follow the steps below and check if that resolve the issue:

First open the Device Manager and expend the Processors tab.

If you have an AMD processor install teh following update and then try installing the HP software:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL40390/oj-98352-1/HPAMDC50PATCH.exe

If you have any other processor (e.g. intel) the following steps will morelikely be relevan for a such:

1. Open Mcafee software, from the Virus and Spyware Protection section click on Schedule and run scans. Click on Real time scanning and then on Turn Off. select Never and confirm by clicking the Turn Off button.

If you have any other security software disable it as well.

2. Open the run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type %windir% and click on OK.
3. Type hpoins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpoins1.old)
4. Type hpwins*.dat into the top search bar, if there are any results rename the extention into old instead of dat. (e.g. hpwins1.old)
5. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
6. Launch the Run dialog by clicking both the Windows key and the R key on your keyboard. Type MSIEXEC /REGSERVER into the Run dialog and click on OK.
7. Reboot your PC
8. Run the installation file and check for any difference.
9. Once you are done, be sure to open McAfee and re-activate Real Time Scanning.

Please let me know if those might help,
Shlomi

Hello

Can you please tell me where can I download the HP Easy Printer Care Software for HP Laserjet M5035 MFP (Windows 7 Pro (64 bit)),

Thank You.

I am installing the software directly from my desk to this time....

How did I have 27 gigs of back up and temp files for windows update?  Thats rediculous! I will let you know when I am all done.

BTW, the  L3uninstall.exe  file was a .bat file, not an .exe, I hope that was the correct choice, I did not see an .exe file.
